William Chin, Artistic Director
William Chin conducts the advanced ensembles of the chorus. He has led the chorus on tours to Italy, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and Carnegie Hall. Mr. Chin is Assistant Conductor of the Chicago Symphony Chorus and Founder/Artistic Director of The Oriana Singers, a six-voice ensemble that has presented concerts nationally and internationally since 1979. Mr. Chin also serves as the conductor of the Anshe Emet Synagogue Choir and is Director of Programs for Early Music Chicago, a musical advocacy and support group. He has been on the adjunct faculty for both DePaul and Roosevelt Universities, and is a recipient of a Joseph Jefferson Citation.
Karen Wilberg, Canterini Director
Karen Wilberg currently serves as Music Director at Grace Lutheran Church in Clarendon Hills, directs choirs at St. Martha in Morton Grove, teaches music at St. Zachary in Des Plaines and teaches private voice lessons. Ms. Wilberg has conducted many different choral groups of both children and adults. She has served as chorus master for Opera San Benedetto in Chicago and the Milhaud Society of Cleveland, and has directed the Metropolitan Arts Chorale in Oak Park, IL. She is an active performer as a full-time member of the chorus of The Lyric Opera Chicago. She is also involved in children’s theater and has directed more than fifty plays and musicals at The Willows Academy, Stage One Productions and for other theater companies.
Ann Kelly, Primo Coro Director
Ms. Kelly is a native of New Jersey and received her Choral Music Education degree with a minor in Conducting from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music located in Bloomington, Indiana. After graduation, Ann taught elementary general music in a Chicago suburb, and she continues to teach private music lessons. A performer at heart, Ann currently sings with the Windy City Performing Arts, the Chicago Choral Artists, and the Saints Peter and Paul Choral Scholars. Ann resides in Oak Park – and is looking forward to meeting the singers and families of PMYC.
Linnea Erickson, Principal Accompanist
Ms. Erickson is the accompanist for Canterini and Harmonia ensembles. She received her Music Education degree from North Park University in Chicago. She studied piano with Dr. Terree Shofner-Emrich and violin with Carol Lahti. She currently teaches music to pre-kindergarten through 6th grade children in Morton Grove in addition to private lessons. Ms. Erickson has accompanied many groups and soloists in the area, including singers from the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
